Terms of service

Effective date: 3 October 2026

1. About these terms

Welcome to RUMI Handmade Jewellery. These terms apply to purchases made through www.rumihandmadejewellery.com and your use of our website.

Please read these terms together with our Shipping Policy, Refund Policy and Privacy Policy before placing an order. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable laws.

For questions, contact rumihandmadejewellery@gmail.com.

2. Our jewellery

Product pages describe each piece’s materials, finish and other available details. Please check these descriptions before purchasing and contact us if you need further information.

Handmade pieces may have small variations in appearance. Colours may also appear differently on different screens. These variations do not remove your right to receive jewellery that matches its description and is of acceptable quality.

Please follow the care instructions provided with your jewellery or on its product page. Plated finishes may change with wear and exposure to moisture, chemicals or friction. This does not exclude your consumer rights.

3. Orders and payment

Please provide accurate contact and delivery information when ordering. You must be authorised to use your chosen payment method.

An order confirmation acknowledges that we have received your order. We will contact you promptly if we cannot fulfil it because an item is unavailable, there is a material listing error, or we reasonably suspect an unauthorised transaction.

If we cannot fulfil an order, we will refund any payment taken for the affected items and any associated shipping charge that is no longer payable.

For a material pricing or description error, we will explain the correction and give you the choice to proceed on the corrected basis or receive a refund.

4. Prices and promotions

Prices are displayed in Australian dollars. Applicable taxes and delivery charges are shown before you complete checkout.

Promotional offers are subject to their stated conditions. Price changes apply to future purchases and do not retrospectively change an accepted order.

5. Shipping and delivery

We ship orders from Sydney, Australia.

Our current Shipping Policy provides for processing Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays, with an estimated processing time of 1–3 business days. Orders placed after 1 pm begin processing the next business day.

Standard shipping is $10, with free standard shipping on orders over $100, for eligible destinations. Available delivery options and the final shipping charge are displayed at checkout.

Processing time is separate from transit time. Delivery estimates are estimates rather than guarantees, unless we expressly agree otherwise.

If your parcel is delayed, missing or damaged, please contact us so we can investigate and help resolve the issue. Your rights under applicable consumer law remain unaffected.

6. Order changes and cancellations

If you need to change or cancel an order, email us as soon as possible with your order number.

We will let you know whether the requested change is possible, depending on whether production or dispatch has started. If an order has already been dispatched, our Refund Policy applies.

Any agreed conditions for a custom order will be explained before you purchase. They do not limit your statutory consumer rights.

7. Change-of-mind returns

Under our current Refund Policy, change-of-mind returns must be made within 14 days of purchase. Jewellery must be unworn, in its original condition and packaging, with proof of purchase.

Custom or personalised pieces are excluded from change-of-mind returns.

Please contact us before returning an item to obtain return instructions. Customers pay change-of-mind return postage. We recommend a trackable service.

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method, normally within 7–10 business days after we receive and inspect the return.

These conditions apply to change-of-mind returns only.

8. Faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied items

Australian Consumer Law provides consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded by these terms.

If an item is faulty, unsafe, materially different from its description or otherwise fails a consumer guarantee, contact us with your order details and a description of the problem.

For a major failure, you may choose a refund or replacement. For other failures, an appropriate remedy may include repair, replacement or refund, as required by law. You may also have rights to compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

The change-of-mind time limit, packaging conditions and custom-item exclusion do not restrict these rights. Where a product has a confirmed fault, we will cover reasonable return costs as required by law.

9. Privacy

We handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Our online store is hosted by Shopify, which supports our checkout and store services.

10. Website content and use

RUMI’s original photographs, written content, branding and designs belong to RUMI or their respective rights holders. Please obtain permission before reproducing them for commercial purposes.

You must not use our website for unlawful purposes, attempt unauthorised access, interfere with its operation or submit malicious content.

11. Updates to these terms

We may update these terms by publishing a revised version with a new effective date.

The terms in effect when you place an order apply to that order. Later changes do not retrospectively reduce your rights.

12. Contact and disputes

If you have a concern about an order or these terms, please email rumihandmadejewellery@gmail.com so we can work towards a resolution.

These terms are governed by applicable Australian law. Nothing prevents you from exercising your consumer rights or seeking assistance from a relevant consumer protection agency, tribunal or court.
